About Me
I am Wiccan ((with no specific tradition as of yet)). I am Lesbian ((and partnered)). I consider myself to be a Wildlife Warrior. I am a HUGE fan of the Irwin Family; Steve'o was my Hero. I wish I could go to live in Beerwah, Queensland, Australia and work for the Irwin Family at Australia Zoo . . . Animals have always been my passion, since I was a very young child . . .

I LOVE Pagan music!!! I LOVE WENDY RULE BEST OF ALL, so I listen to ALL of her music, EXCLUSIVELY, unless I am in a situation where I cannot . . . otherwise . . . my other CD's are Circle Round and Sing, The Best of Pagan Song, Parnassus ((Chalice and Blade)), and as I said -- anything by Wendy Rule . . . plus the music of a dear lady from my Pagan Spiritualist Church's music . . . in the event that I cannot listen exclusively to Wendy Rule -- or even to Pagan/Spiritualist music, I also enjoy classic Rock ((Steven Tyler/Aerosmith, AC/DC, KISS, Ozzy, etc . . .)), Melissa Etheridge and others . . .

Sooooooooo. The day finally arrived. 31 May 2008. I was going to go see WENDY RULE!!! I got up, bathed, applied makeup, ironed clothes, cleaned the Birds . . . then, finally, left for New Haven, of which I would be catching Metro-North -- the Train to New York City . . . I grabbed a cuppa coffee . . . and was on my way . . . It was a nice drive . . . I managed to outrun the storms . . .
I got to New Haven, found the Train station ((I had printed out directions, but I realized I didn't have them once I was looking for my exit. Fortunately, I had attempted to write them before they printed, so I still remembered part of them!!!)).
I get to Union Station, purchase my round-trip ticket for Grand Central Station . . . board and wait to begin my journey. I try to be careful not to sit backwards on the train, but I did, so rather than watch the scenery in a way that would make me nauseous, I decided to read. I like the series I'm reading now, anyway.
So I arrive at Grand Central Station . . . the place is just HUGE, which I recalled from the two other times I had been there . . . and I am trying like all hell to figure out which train/subway/shuttle to take to get to Greenwich Village . . . I ask -- the New Yorkers are amazingly friendly and helpful about directions. Unfortunately, I reckon I'm a total greenhorn, 'cuz I got on the wrong train, not once, but twice. Well, not the wrong train. Right train, WRONG direction. Which meant I wasted my boarding pass by having to turn around and go back. Twice. At least the subway isn't wicked expensive. Not for a couple of trips in a single day. But they were wasted tickets none the less.
Finally . . . I arrived in Greenwich Village. Now another tough decision . . . which way do I need to go to get to Caffe Vivaldi??? I looked to the left. I looked to the right. I looked straight ahead. Hmmmmm. I had no clue. Streets seemed to be running in all directions . . . parallel here, add a Y there . . . Crikey!!! I was getting terribly nervous . . . since my subway mishap had me thinking I'd be truly late . . .
So I took off walking. I went to the right, then crossed a strangely angled street. In a few minutes' time . . . straight up ahead . . . lo-and-behold . . . was Jones Street. Now, I knew if I got on that, that one way or the other would lead me right to Wendy's venue . . . and as soon as I got to the street, turned the corner . . . there was my destination . . . right there . . . as if a neon lighted arrow should be pointing to it and flashing . . . ((The Goddess watches out for fools, LOL)).
I walked up to the door, which was open. I walked inside. The ((really cute)) waitress said they weren't having people to come in just yet, but she asked me my name. I wasn't on the reservation-list, so I explained that I had called the venue 5+ times and nobody ever returned my call to confirm my reservation. Since it was just me, she said it wouldn't make that much of a difference, and I waited outside and took my seat when they allowed entry.
Since it turned out that I was early . . . I continued to read my book. Actually, I managed to finish it and begin on the next one . . . in the meanwhile, Wendy arrived. She came in, sat down her guitar . . . and began to greet people. She came over to me, and adressed me by name, said hello, waited for me to stand up, and she gave me a great big ((sweet)) hug . . . .
Now, I am not implying that she has no memory, but . . . I was pretty astonished that she sees and meets soooooooooooo many fans every day, all over the world, and in all of that, she remembered my name. That was a really HUGE honour!!!!!!
Her concert was fabulous. I loved it -- every minute!!! I hated to see the evening come to an end. She had told me after she packed up her equipment, she would come and sit with me and visit for a bit before we leave, but the next entertainer was arriving at the venue, so she wasn't able to do that . . . BUT!!! She is making TWO tours this year, so she promised me she'd spend more time with me when she sees me this fall.
I just love Wendy to bits. I wish I could be around her more often. I said quietly to her that she is the fantasy of many . . . which I whole-hearted believe is true. She is a total package: She is Pagan. Beautiful. Friendly. Talented. Amazing. Who wouldn't fall for her???
So the evening came to a close . . . I got back to the train station, caught my subway train to Times Square, got onto a shuttle-train back to Grand Central Station, then boarded my train and awaited the ride back . . . all with beautiful memories of Wendy . . . I sure wish I could've just maybe had a little kiss . . . but dreaming is lovely too . . . I sooooo love her!!! What a fantastic woman!!! What a great evening!!!
Sweet Blessings,
Wynter Ravyn/Angie . . . ((Note: I am NOT Ms. Cabot, I am Wynter Ravyn. I just like to include her quote in my Signature because I find her AMAZING!!!)) So . . . one of the latest dealings and/or going-on in my world is my case on Religious Discrimination and the Violation of Freedom of Speech . . . so here's a bit of an update . . .
I had filed an EEOC complaint against my Nurse Manager. I have one final thing to do, which is to get my representative to sign my paperwork and get it mailed back to them for processing and/or investigation or whatever the next step is. Because I hadn't gotten it done sooner, the ((national)) office Fed-exed me a SECOND packet, so I need to track down my Rep. Perhaps tomorrow, 'cuz that truly needs to get back and go through its process(es).
This past Saturday, I actually got my letters written and mailed them out to Project Witches' Protection and to the American Civil Liberties Union. I also enclosed the memorandum of our Dress-Code/Policy -- so if I have a case, they can decide and advise me to the next steps. I don't know what will become of that, but I have officially attempted. I want to be one of the people who stands up for Witches. It might be a long road, a roller coaster ride, but I am not planning to jump out of the car in mid-track, LOL.
In other news, I have taken my dedication to the Goddess, the Craft, and the Cabot Tradition to an additional level. I have the Cabot Crest on my left forearm, as well as the Project Witches' Protection logo on my right forearm. The pictures are posted amongst my photos. I am proud of them and what they represent.
I was invited by my HP to be on "The Witchin' Hour TV" program, which airs in some areas of my state of Connecticut, USA on public television. I will soon have a DVD of the program. I was STOKED about the invitation and being filmed. I was nervous, and I hope I won't look like a royal goober, but I'll get to see the results on Friday, when it airs . . . One thing I got to do, also, was to introduce the musick video of MY FAVOURITE ARTIST, Wendy Rule!!! So that was an additional perk.
I have been reflecting on my journey over the past 5 years, and I am pretty amazed at how things have changed, evolved, and unfolded in my life. One step has built upon the next and the next and the next. Some things were heartbreaking, but educational. I have learned and grown. I aspire to be wiser and more knowledgeable. Every day is another day to expand and broaden my horizons . . . every day is a new challenge . . . everyday is a new opportunity to honour the Goddess.
I have also decided to have a look at a new book . . . "PAGANS and the LAW. Understand Your Rights." This will be educational and informative. Perhaps if I commit some of it to memory, I will be wiser, as well. One thing that will be beneficial is to know what my rights, as a Pagan individual, truly are. It will certainly assist me against discrimination and bullying.
Well, for now, I think that is pretty much gonna sum up my current ramblings. I will close by wishing everyone all the Brightest and the Best.
((Note: I am NOT Ms. Cabot, I am Wynter Ravyn. I just like to include her quote in my Signature because I find her AMAZING!!!))
On 18 August 2007, I was blessed with getting to meet "America's Most Famous Witch," -- "The Official Witch Of Salem," -- also known as "The World's Most Famous Witch . . . "
I wasn't truly sure what to expect . . . I knew there was a chance that she'd be booked-up and I'd not get to meet her at all . . . or the chance that perhaps her schedule would take a different course, and she could've not been there at all that day . . . but I went into her lovely shoppe, and as I was asking her employee about her, she offered that I should just ask Laurie myself, to turn around, that she was sitting right behind me . . .
Now, let me tell ya . . . I nearly FAINTED right on the spot . . . I could feel my knees quivering, as if they wanted to BUCKLE right there!!! I may have looked like an utter goof, I don't know, I might've even begun to stutter, but at the mere thought of truly seeing Ms. Cabot, my nerves shot into overdrive and I was trembling from that moment on . . .
I didn't have an appointment with Ms. Cabot, but she took the time to autograph my books ((ones that she authored)), speak briefly with me, and share ((take)) a picture WITH me. She is a fabulous and amazing woman. She has done SO MUCH to pave the way for us, and I am simply honored to have shared time and space with her.
I had to take some time out in the lovely weather, then sit down and have a meal before my nerves got back on track again . . . I needed to ground from my excitement of having met Ms. Cabot, who is a dear, sweet lady!!!
In the words of Ms. Cabot, herself, " . . . let the majick begin . . ."
I am sooooooooooooo STOKED!!! I just attended TWO concerts of Wendy Rule!!! She is the most AMAZING woman, EVER!!! Crikey!!! She is not only beautiful and sexxxy, but she is kind, friendly, loving, patient, and she has TONS of Personality and Charisma!!!
I had NO CLUE that, as an artist, one who's famous to boot ((at least in Pagan circles)), that I'd actually get to meet her, speak with her . . . then, she took the time to EMAIL me back . . . she said she'd be happy to share a drink before or after her concert . . . we didn't actually have a drink together, but better . . . she took time to talk with me, autograph EVERYTHING I had bought or taken to her concert, and I have some very memorable photographs, some are of the two of us, others are ones she posed for . . . ((as soon as I figure out how to upload the pictures from the bloody CD, I'll post them to CovenSpace, MySpace, WiccaSpace, and WiccanSpace . . . perhaps anywhere I have a profile!!!)) . . .
Wendy is absolutely AMAZING . . . and she is a BRILLIANT singer / artist / performer. If you EVER get an opportunity to attend her concert, please, do so . . . you'll be glad you did, and she is truly a marvelous person. She is more than what I expected. If my lottery ticket EVER hits jackpot, I'll be her #1 TOP FAN who is her personal Groupie . . . globe trotting her concert venues . . . but what are THOSE chances, anyway . . . winning the lottery, I mean???
I'm still a wicked fan of Terri and Bindi Irwin / the Crocodile Hunter Empire / Australia Zoo / Wildlife Warriors, etc . . . but Wendy Rule is just as fabulous . . . and her music is just amazing. I don't listen to anything but her . . . when I have a choice, that is!!!
Okie-dokie . . . I reckon that I'll close for now . . . but my first blog post just 'had' to be about Wendy . . . with a mention of Australia Zoo . . .
Hmmmmmmm . . . so "if I did win the lottery," I don't know if I'd move to Beerwah, Queensland, Australia or Melbourne, Victoria, Australia . . . perhaps I'd just have to purchase TWO homes and live both places!!!
I reckon I'd insert a photo . . . but the blimey pics are inaccessible to me on that bloody CD ((for now . . . I must still be in the basement when it comes to technology . . . !!! )).
